You Hold Your Issues In Your Tissues

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yes, your physical pain can come from wear, tear, overuse, surgery or trauma. Did you ever consider that your physical pain can also be coming from emotional blocks? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It has taken me a long time to recognize that whenever I am dealing with a nagging issue, I need to question my emotional blocks at the time the issue/injury occurred. Is there an emotional reason for me to not be able to ______ (fill in the blank). I also need to question why "letting go" of the pain is so difficult when it is taking a long time to heal.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It always amazes me that when I treat patients, many of them/us/we/I have emotional attachments to our discomforts and pains. I've found that many patients are connected to their suffering through their words, their complaints, their inability to not make it the focus of their conversations and thoughts. How many times do you discuss your physical pain with others or spend countless hours brooding about it? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here is an excerpt from Louise L. Hay's book "YOU CAN HEAL YOUR LIFE"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"“KNEES, like the neck, have to do with flexibility; only they express bending and pride, ego and stubbornness. Often when moving forward, we are fearful of bending and we become inflexible. This stiffens the joints. We want to move forward, but we do not want to change our ways. This is why knees take so long to heal; our ego is involved. The knees take a long time because we get our pride and our self-righteousness involved.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The next time you have a knee problem, ask yourself where you are being self-righteous, where you are refusing to bend. Drop the stubbornness and let go. Life is flow, life is movement; and to be comfortable, we must be flexible and move with it. A willow tree bends and sways and flows with the wind and is always graceful and at ease with life."
